Mandie Lavin

Following the announcement that Mandie Lavin, Director General of the British Healthcare Trades Association, is to open and give two speaking sessions at this year’s Trade Days, THIIS caught up with her to find out her thoughts about the industry’s only trade-exclusive event.

What’s your favourite thing about Trade Days?

It’s a wonderful opportunity for the trade to get together in a unique way, identifying trends and meeting suppliers, showcasing latest designs, discussing developments and innovations, as well as meeting experts in the field. There really is something for everyone at Trade Days and events such as this promote ideas and get people thinking in new ways about their companies.

Why should people attend Trade Days?

This event is built specifically for the industry and with interesting, targeted seminars from industry leaders, commentators and eminent thought leaders. This is the place to be to meet and stimulate thinking about where your strategic business direction should be.

What impact does Trade Days have on the sector?

With fantastic networking, it is here that industry will negotiate and trade in a future-focused way, which is essential to business health in a changing trading context.

We are immensely grateful to everyone who has worked so hard to make this event a success and I have been privileged, since my arrival, to work closely with the team and pay tribute to them for all that has been achieved.

It cannot happen unless we all play our part and I am looking forward to meeting all of you at Trade Days, you may wish to hear some of my early impressions about the work of the industry and how the BHTA can add value to what you all do.

What are you most looking forward to at Trade Days 2018?

Meeting members and seeing them in action at the event is my focus. There are still many members I need to meet and listen to and engage with to build the BHTA of the future. I am so excited about the possibilities and will welcome all feedback about Trade Days so we can ensure that we meet the needs of exhibitors, partners, sponsors and everyone who has supported us.

A final word

We are indebted to CloserStill, our partners in this show, and to others who have aligned themselves with us in this venture. I wish you all the very best for a successful show – onwards and upwards.
