The Disabled Living Foundation (DLF) has announced it has added brand new courses to its 2009 training programme along with extra dates for some of its more popular courses.
The new courses are:
Elderly Falls-management and Solutions - 3rd July 2009
This one day course is aimed at therapists working with the elderly in the community, either in residential care or in their own homes. The course will consider the risk factors for falls and look at possible prevention measures, but also deal with problem-solving manual handling methods of getting people up again.
Handling Children in the School Environment - 13th July and 12th August 2009
This one day course is structured for teachers, teaching assistants and others who may be involved with handling children with special needs at school. The day will cover all aspects of risk assessment, body movement, risk factors and problem-solving in practical situations
Due to their popularity DLF has also added extra dates for three of its housing-related course.

Housing Adaptations Part Two – 2nd July 2009
