Companies in the mobility industry are sponsoring various awards at the Derbyshire Carer of the Year Awards 2018, a competition held by The Derby Telegraph which brings people together from the caring world and recognises the hard work that carers do.

Recognising the efforts of people, both professional and those who give up their free time, who go the extra mile to look after others, the awards have all been sponsored by businesses in the East Midlands.

Medequip and Derbyshire Mobility are both sponsoring one out of the 10 award categories.

Sponsoring the awards for a second year running, Derbyshire Mobility, a mobility retailer which has been providing and servicing products for local residents in the county for two decades, is sponsoring the Care Home of the Year Award.

Robert Cartledge, Managing Director of Derbyshire Mobility, commented: “We have chosen to sponsor the Derbyshire Carer of The Year Awards for a second year running for a number of reasons.

“Firstly, it’s great to acknowledge the tremendous work done by the carers and care homes in our region, and some of the stories you hear on the day are both heart-warming and inspiring.”

“We also enjoy the networking side of the event, to meet new people within the care sector is great exposure for our business, and we get to learn more about how our products help professionals within our industry do their job. We’re really looking forward to meeting this year’s candidates and we can’t wait to hear how they’ve made a difference to other people’s lives.”

Matthew Ward, Head of Retail and Marketing at Medequip, told THIIS: “Medequip are delighted to be a sponsor of the Derbyshire Carer Awards for a second year. This year we are sponsoring the Young Carer of the Year Award – and we are looking forward to hearing about the inspirational stories many young carers tell about their experience.

“Medequip run the Community Equipment Service in Derbyshire; in delivering this service our colleagues regularly come into contact with carers and those who receive their care. The Derbyshire Care Awards are a wonderful opportunity to publicly recognise the commitment carers make to our society every day.”

The awards ceremony will be held at Derby’s Pride Park Stadium in July.
