Invacare Europe, in association with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the Tennis Foundation will host the 2009 Invacare World Team Cup, the largest team competition for wheelchair tennis. The competition will be held in Nottingham, United Kingdom, from July 27 to August 2, at the Nottingham Tennis Centre, the premium tennis venue in Nottingham and one of the largest of its kind in the country.
About the Invacare World Team Cup
2009 celebrates the Silver Anniversary of the Invacare World Team Cup, making it a unique occasion for all those involved. Often referred to as the Davis and Fed Cups of wheelchair tennis, the Invacare World Team Cup tournament brings the elite wheelchair tennis players together to compete for national pride in one of the world's premium disability sport team events.

Invacare World Team Cup 2009 – a platform for the company
This year, more than 30 nations, 200 players and 150 additional guests will take part in the Invacare World Team Cup. However the IWTC isn't just about tennis, Invacare has an exciting week planned and will be present at the Nottingham Tennis Centre with the Invacare Village. A symposium with well-known guest speakers and experts on the topic “Integration and Sports” will be held on Thursday 30th of July. Invacare is delighted to announce that Mr Martin McElhatton – IWTA President, will be the Chairman. Here the guest will be able to visit an Invacare show room with the newest Invacare, Küschall and Top End products and watch various sports demonstrations throughout the week.
Ambassador Rainer Küschall
The Invacare ambassador will be Mr Rainer Küschall. Rainer became quadriplegic after a swimming accident yet he continued to pursue his passion for sports, going on to win 21 Paralympic medals at 7 Paralympic games. Rainer later founded Küschall AG, a company creating revolutionary, light wheelchairs. Küschall AG is a subsidiary company of Invacare and Rainer will speak at this year's symposium.
