The 2011 Moving & Handling People conference and exhibition brochure has been published and DLF has been very innovative in both their new conference format and their rates, which are not only held at 2010 prices but also include a 3 for 2 delegate offer – a reflection of DLF's appreciation of the economic situation. The event takes place on February 3-4 2011 at the Business Design Centre, Islington, London.
The theme is Managing Risk, Improving Practice and this is echoed throughout the event. Sessions include Risk Management, Preparing a Business Case for Equipment, Legal Issues, Training & Education and the Future of Moving & Handling in the UK
Pre-conference New Products Workshops cover new equipment for both children and adults in the Home, Social Care and Hospital environments and give exhibitors the opportunity to demonstrate new products and to show and discuss bespoke equipment and products in development with delegates – your opportunity to give pre-production feedback!
The format for the main conference has been changed in response to feedback – the number of plenary and concurrent sessions have been reduced to enable the main conference workshops to be extended in length. These workshops will all now be practical and problem solving, considering both paediatric and adult handling situations with delegates able to choose 2 out of 3 scenarios in each of the 4 workshops + the opportunity to discuss suitable equipment with exhibitors prior to each workshop. One of the 4 workshops is problem solving for bariatric clients – children and adults
The event provides delegates with the largest moving and handling equipment exhibition for professionals in the UK and offers a unique chance to see, try out and discuss a wide range of equipment for use in both Acute and Community environments with suppliers. The related Professional Resource Centre enables you to discuss moving and handling issues and areas of professional practice with organisations associated with the moving and handling of people as well as networking with professional bodies and colleagues
Moving & Handling People is a CPD accredited event, offering the opportunity for you to audit your practice, develop new thoughts and ideas and provides time for learning from other experienced professionals working in health and social care.
