DLF update self assessment tool
Ask Sara website

The Disabled Living Foundation (DLF)'s award-winning, innovative online self assessment tool, AskSARA has been relaunched with a new improved, user friendly design and updated content.

AskSARA is an innovative way for older and disabled people and their families to obtain advice about products that can help them in their daily lives. AskSARA invites you to enter information about yourself and your environment and then, based on your answers, gives you a detailed report full of useful advice and suggestions. AskSARA recently won a National eWell-Being Award in the Independent Living Category and was commended in the ICT Hub Awards 2008.

The new version of AskSARA launched after extensive user feedback. It is now easier to use and incorporates a fresh, modern design.

Twelve topics in AskSARA have now been updated with brand new content with more to follow. The updated topics include; hearing, entering the home, security, bath and shower, garden and outdoor area, and medication. DLF's occupational therapists have updated the advice and product information to ensure users get the maximum benefit from the service. The hearing section in particular has received a substantial update, working in partnership with the national deafness and hard of hearing charity RNID to add more questions, give detailed advice and update the product suggestions.

Nicole Penn-Symons, Chief Executive of the DLF, says “We are constantly looking at ways to evolve AskSARA so it provides the best possible service to users. User feedback is key to that evolution and that is why we always listen to those that benefit from the service. We are delighted with this latest version and are confident that it will prove very popular with users”.
