Straits Mobility highlights benefits of partner scheme

Straits Mobility Services in Dudley has hailed the support provided by the Companion Accredited Partner scheme and hopes their Accredited Partner status will help them to attract more stairlift customers.

Service engineer Dave Hazlewood set up Straits Mobility Services in 2008, and quickly expanded to include retail sales for a range of mobility equipment. Dave and his wife Clair now employ an additional two team members and have a customer base in the surrounding West Midlands area including the Black Country. They also cater for care homes and some charities.

Dave said: "The main thing that we look for when working with suppliers is the product, knowledge of staff, timescale, and customer service side of things. We’ve been working with Companion more closely over the past two years as the staff, service and products are excellent.”

When Companion’s Accredited Partner scheme was launched, Dave welcomed the increased support from a key supplier to his business.

"Our initial thoughts about the partner scheme were positive. Generally, our view on loyalty schemes is positive as long as the product and service is good,” he added.

The Accredited Partner scheme has grown quickly for Companion with no signs of abating and now has over 200 registered companies.

Mobility retailers who become Companion Accredited Partners benefit from a dedicated online portal where they can access live information about the status of their sales leads and commission, as well as fast track response times, enhanced marketing support, and a rewards scheme that guarantees prizes for a minimum of 10 leads per month.

In addition, every month those companies that register leads on the portal earn entries into a draw to win a top prize, with Straits Mobility winning the scheme’s July prize of a supersize smart TV.

"We do hope our business will get busier in the next five years. We see growth coming from sales of all types of mobility equipment as people are staying in their homes longer and receiving less help from the social equipment departments overall,” said Dave.

Companion’s Business Development Manager Peter Childs said: "The Accredited Partner scheme is really taking off now, with many mobility retailers joining and registering their stairlift and bathing leads on our easy-to-use online portal and then keeping up with how our team are progressing the enquiries. It’s made a real difference to how we keep in touch with all our partners and the prize draw is just one of the ways we hope to show our appreciation of them choosing to do business with us.”
