A planning application has been created which is looking for permission to build 75 care apartments for elderly people in the St Helens area, near Liverpool.

Each apartment will be wheelchair accessible, with six disabled parking spots available for residents, staff and visitors to use.

The proposed development will feature 27 one-bed apartments, 41 two-bed apartments, five three-bed apartments and two penthouses.

In addition, proposed facilities included in the plans are a residents’ lounge, coffee lounge, table service restaurant, reception area, hair salon and adjoining treatment room, an activities suite, spa suite and internal mobility scooter store.

The proposals have been submitted by Gladman Retirement Living, which has care and nursing facilities throughout the country.

As seen in the St Helens Star, plans state Adlington, a specialist brand of Gladman, aim to meet the current and future needs of elderly people who require care.

The plans are in consultation until Friday 24th August.
