The Squirrel Diamond is an ultimate full replacement mattress and has been designed to address the real needs of the modern care environment. Its ground-breaking design includes an array of common-sense features ensuring greater safety, superior performance and of course legal compliance.
Legal and safety issues are met by its low profile design. The entire system is just 12.5cm (5”) in depth which means that it will not compromise the safety of most modern integrated bedrails -which is an important legal issue.
The Squirrel Diamond is the first 12.5cm (5”) full replacement air mattress available to the global market. Its super low profile provides the comfort of a traditional domestic mattress and offers a replacement for the often unpopular feel of the deep cell air mattress. Its unique construction provides ample purchase for physiotherapy and repositioning whilst a mass of 58 air cells ensures that the sacrum is not pinched whilst the patient sits up in bed.
The Squirrel Diamond includes a ventilated micro low air loss system. Key cells are constructed with numerous laser punch holes; the continuous flow of air (3-7 litres per hour) from these cells means they can partially collapse which allows the cells to follow the shape of the patient. This allows a greater patient area to be supported, eliminating high points of pressure and so making the mattress more comfortable whilst delivering the best possible pressure care.
All dynamic air mattresses create motion and movement which means greater pressure relief. Large-size air cells can cause too much movement and tissue distortion that some users will find uncomfortable - and those with muscular and skeletal conditions can find painful. The Squirrel Diamond™ has our FACC™ (patent pending) mattress design; The mattress construction allows the subtle movement of numerous smaller cells, giving the user greater support with less movement; it therefore provides more comfort whilst still providing the clinical benefits of cell alternation.
