Denbighshire, Wrexham, Anglesey and Conwy County Council's have awarded Stannah Stairlifts and Stannah Lift Services Limited a c£1.2 million pound two year contract.
The contract was advertised within the Official Journal of European Union (OJEU) for the supply, maintenance, recycling of straight and curved stair lifts, Hoists, step lifts, through floor lifts and associated equipment within the boundaries of the Authorities. The delivery of these innovative services to the Councils now makes Stannah the preferred and recommended supplier for the various Authorities.
The successful submission from Stannah not only reduces the whole life costs of providing stairlifts to residents but also incorporates an advanced best value recycling element, a brand which residents would trust as well as delivering on sustainability and the green agenda. The winning tender was also evaluated on the safety, quality, and reliability of products as well as the ability to form an effective partnership with the various Authorities.
Commenting on the tender award Gareth Roberts (Chair of the North Wales Authorities collaborative contract group) of Denbighshire County Council said ‘ Stannah produced a comprehensive and innovative bid and demonstrated that not only do they design and manufacture the majority of their own components but also they already have the facilities, processes and procedures in place for recycling stairlifts.'

It is an important win for us and recognises the hard work that the team put in to develop what was a far reaching and innovative approach to the contract. What was important in our response to the tender was to ensure that we offered more quality for less cost to the local residents via their councils as well as our ability to provide local and dedicated qualified installation and repair engineers.'
