Wales 2008 – Sustainable programme for change

Wales are not pursuing the Transforming Community Equipment Services Model. The following list identifies the path Wales are focussing on:

· We are paying particular attention to the provision of complex, specialist and children's equipment by dealing with this on a national basis – thus allowing CES to focus on routine equipment

· We are addressing future capacity issues by taking a closer look at the underlying problem issues of CES e.g. commissioning, funding and formal training for staff

· We are capitalising on years of experience, including the recent pooled funding and integration initiatives

· We are capitalising on the recent capital grant funding

· We believe there are huge benefits to be achieved by focussing on recycling – financially and environmentally

· We are endeavouring to keep it simple for the client by maintaining a single point of contact

· We are working closely with our procurement partners ‘Value Wales' to achieve best value

· We are focussing on bringing the service to the client, and providing all the necessary support functions in the delivery of the service e.g. product advice, provision, delivery, installation, maintenance, collection and decontamination

· We aim to allow the services to run in tandem with the clinical services supported by CES to ensure wider health and social care issues are addressed
