Telehealthcare Training Tool enhanced

Tunstall Healthcare has announced the launch of its newly updated Telehealthcare Training Tool (TTT), which includes an enhanced range of features and training scenarios for providing care in the community.

TTT is a web based, flexible and practical learning resource designed to educate health and social care professionals on what to consider when assessing and monitoring the use of assistive technology. It uses interactive real-life scenarios to trigger the viewers' senses and guides the user through various modules covering needs, risk and solution identification through to clinical reasoning and the provision of a personalised certificate.

Originally launched in 2007, TTT has grown to be an invaluable tool to support the training of front-line practitioners in telecare. Tunstall has updated the tool to reflect the wider role that telehealthcare plays in the delivery of care, adding new features to accommodate the growing interest in telehealth and growing diversity of Tunstall's solutions.

The new features include:

• Enhanced feedback – this is offered at every stage to promote learning.

• Scenario relevancy – scenarios are listed in order of relevancy to the job role, helping users prioritise tasks.

• Management login and reporting – allowing managers to view progress reports and manage access for their teams.

• Brand new telehealth scenarios

• Updated telecare scenarios - including new products such as CareAssist, and much more.

Ali Rogan, Group Marketing Director for Tunstall, said: “Whilst telecare is now a well used term, there is still a great deal of work to do, to equip all care practitioners with sufficient knowledge of how technology supports people with long term conditions and physical/cognitive difficulties. TTT turns theory into practice, so care practitioners can become familiar with the full range of solutions available to their clients to support their independence.”

Users can progress at their own pace, fitting use of the training tool around their schedules to suit their needs and knowledge levels. The completion of each level awards users with a certificate to show they have successfully completed this section. The certificate can be downloaded and printed if required and can count towards their continuous professional development.

The TTT is part of Tunstall's Online Learning Centre, a comprehensive resource on implementing telehealthcare services and since its conception, it has over 1,700 registered users.
